Brian Lagana is the executive director of the American Trucking Associations’ Safety Management Council and Transportation Security Council, rejoining ATA in that capacity in September 2014. Prior to returning to ATA, he served as executive director and director of government affairs for the Pedorthic Footcare Association (PFA) from 2003 to 2014.
From 1998 to 2003, Brian served as executive director and director of government affairs for a number of small transportation-related trade associations, first with the American Trucking Associations (ATA) and then with Washington Policy Associates (WPA), an association management company specializing in U.S. Dept. of Transportation regulated industries’ trade associations. Brian started his association career in 1990 at the National Association of Counties (NACo) as a legislative associate before moving to the New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC) as a lobbyist and co-grant administrator, before moving back to Washington, DC and rejoining NACo and later the National Association of County Engineers (NACE).
Brian has extensive lobbying experience at the federal, state and local (county) levels and has delivered testimony before Congressional committees.
Brian lives in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife, Lou Ann, and their 7 year old Maltese, Emma.
