Bio

John Lynch holds the position of Senior Vice President, Federation Relations and Industry Affairs of the American Trucking Associations (ATA). In this role, Mr. Lynch is tasked with overseeing the ATA Federation serving as the primary liaison between ATA and the 50 State Trucking Associations (STAs) as well as the 22 affiliated state moving and storage associations (SMSAs). These duties include working with the state affiliates on a variety of state and federal advocacy issues as well as association management matters. 
Additionally, John oversees ATA’s industry councils – National Accounting & Finance Council, Safety Management Council, Technology & Maintenance Council, and Transportation Security Council.

John also serves President of the Trucking Cares Foundation (TCF). The purpose of the Trucking Cares Foundation is to “improve the safety of the trucking industry and the safety, security, and sustainability of America's highways and communities we serve by supporting and promoting research, education and leadership development, volunteerism, and a broad range of charitable activities towards those ends.”

Last but not least John staffs ATA’s Small Carrier Committee.

Prior to arriving at ATA in December, 2006, John spent nearly ten years as a government relations representative at the Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA). 

John graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, History degree from Providence College in 1996 and earned a Masters of Business Administration from George Washington University in 2010. He is married with two children, ages 9 and 7.
